Tadasana(Mountain Pose

One of the simple or beginners' posture TADASANA comes under the standing postures. It can be visualized while a practitioner stands straight closing hands and legs together ( or a bit apart) and then stretching the body longitudinally using the toes and both hands straight upwards. This posture is quite simple and for beginners of yogic routine is included while relaxing or stretching the body standing straight. The sequence of the posture is as follows

Step-by-Step Instructions


Step 1. Stand straight and look straight while breathing normally( effortlessly). Keep your hands on either side just like inattention.


Step 2. Now lift both your arms up and with the help of your palms join your hands clasping them together.


Step 3. Now using the soles lift your body on the base of your toenails while your hands clasped together stretch together to elongate or stretch your body upwards in a rhythmic motion.


Step 4. With your toes stretched and hands stretching upwards hence increasing your height to the maximum possible stay in this posture while breathing effortlessly.


Step 5. After staying in this posture for a few breathing cycles similarly come out of the posture in a fluid and rhythmic manner to regain the attention position once again.




Health Benefits of Tadasana:


1. As a beginner's posture, it helps to open up your body especially the arms and the toes.

2. It relaxes the body in standing position after any physically demanding routine.

3. Improves the capacity of your subtle muscles of toes and arms while keeps the body relaxed.

4. Generally relaxes the complete exterior muscles of the torso, arms, and legs.

5. It helps to help to increase height.

6. It helps in cleaning of the stomach and intestine(Shankaprakshalana).


Precautions:

1. As a beginners posture there are no serious precautions.

2. Do not attempt the posture in case of serious sole or toe injury or even and such condition in your arms.
